Just this Summer, the Lowline received the news we’ve been waiting for from the City of New York: our first official approval. This moment marks an extraordinary turn in our organization’s 5+ year-long run. We’re closer than ever to realizing our innovative vision: a vibrant community space in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The world’s first underground park.
This official go-ahead is a cause for celebration, and what better way to kick off a season of wild possibility than our Annual Anti-Gala? Celebrate with us this October, and be a part of history in the making.
It’s our effort to show that traditions and norms can be turned on their heads; that events can be both inspiring and impactful; and that we’re not just building a park, we’re building a community with the bricks and mortar of creativity, technological innovation and a far-reaching, community-centered vision.
This year’s Anti-Gala will be hosted at the Lowline Lab, located at 140 Essex Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Host Committee (in formation): Zach Aarons, Serena Altschul, Dave Barry, Jennifer Blumin, Vin Cipolla, Sara Cline, Boykin Curry, Megan Ellison, Adrian Grenier, Robert Hammond, Paul Hoffman, Spike Jonze, Arielle Tepper Madover, Mark Mini, Patty Newburger, Signe Nielsen, Jolie Hunt-Potter, Michele Shapiro and Abhay Deshpande, Peter Shapiro, Ed Scheetz and Cristina Civetta, James Ramsey, Joshua Sirefman and Marquise Stillwell.
